The Evolution of the Ad Tech Industry and Where It’s Headed in 2016

Our CMO Joanna O’Connell presented last week at the Digiday Programmatic Summit, in a dialog with Brian Morrissey, President and Editor-in-Chief at Digiday. Joanna spoke about her ad tech background and why she decided to make the switch from AdExchanger’s research practice to CMO of MediaMath in October. Brian also asked Joanna about her thoughts on ad fraud, ad tech and mar tech and the future of programmatic. She shared this takeaway with the audience: “If programmatic is just being treated as a line item on a media plan, the point is being missed.”

    Hi there Ofer. Thanks for your comment. Sorry you found it disgraceful! It certainly was not about “escaping” the question – rather, as I believe I noted, “that’s an incredibly technical question – come talk to me about it after ward” (or something to that effect). It was A VERY, VERY technical (and business and industry) question about how we solve for too many pixels affecting page load, as I recall. It was not necessarily particularly relevant to the conversation we were having so it felt out of left field. Nor was not equipped to answer it on the spot. Hence my ask to her. Not sure how that was an inappropriate response.
