Register for MediaMath’s Marketing Visionary Dinner in NYC

April 6, 2015 — by MediaMath

MediaMath’s Marketing Visionary Dinner is rapidly approaching for those digital marketers (both brand and agency side) in the New York City area. Sheryl Pattek, Vice President and Principal Analyst serving CMO Professionals at Forrester Research, will address what it means to be a CMO in the age of the connected consumer, and outline four imperatives for driving digital marketing success.

Topics that will be covered at the dinner include:

-Digital is fundamentally disrupting business

If it wasn’t already apparent that technology has changed the way businesses operate, a highly shared TechCrunch article from last week sums it up nicely:

“Uber, the world’s largest taxi company, owns no vehicles. Facebook, the world’s most popular media owner, creates no content. Alibaba, the most valuable retailer, has no inventory. And Airbnb, the world’s largest accommodation provider, owns no real estate. Something interesting is happening.”

Tom Goodwin, the author of the article, goes on to say that “The Internet is the most powerful mechanism we can imagine to match perfectly individuals that need something, and people with something to offer.” While the story focuses on digital disruption in the lens of the customer interface (the actual interaction, and transaction, between customer and brand), the same idea can be applied to digital marketing; Sherly Pattek will address how businesses must continually apply technology to create new sources of value and increase operational agility in service of the customer.

Consumers are in control of engagement

Consumers today are “always on,” overwhelmed with information, and time-strapped — meaning that it’s ultimately up to them as to when and how they engage with a brand, not the other way around.

Forrester’s Annual Benchmark on the State of US Consumers and Technology 2014 found that US users, across all demographic groups, used an average of 3.3 devices in 2014; the Pew Research Center recently published a study finding that 64% of American adults own a smartphone, and for many, it is the key point of entry to the online world. As a result of the proliferation of channels and digital touch points, marketers are now tasked with delivering superior marketing experiences that ultimately align to business goals – Sheryl Pattek will provide a frame set for marketers needing to own the customer moment, and drive the customer experience for their organization.
