MediaMath announces appointment of co-founder Erich Wasserman as chief revenue officer

MediaMath, the creator of the TerminalOne marketing operating system for digital marketers, today announced the appointment of co-founder Erich Wasserman as global chief revenue officer to lead the company’s sales and account management business units across North America, LatAm, EMEA and APAC.

Wasserman, whose appointment is part of a larger effort to capitalise on MediaMath’s terrific momentum by nearly doubling the investment in sales & marketing globally, comes to this role after three years as GM EMEA & APAC.

As the leader of the EMEA & APAC organisation, Erich established and expanded MediaMath’s global footprint, growing its contribution to nearly half of the company’s worldwide platform billings.

“There is no person better suited to take on the role of Global CRO than Erich,” said CEO of MediaMath, Joe Zawadzki. “Since co-founding this company with me in 2007, Erich has put every ounce of his being into making it a success. From driving adoption of the first agency trading desks to bringing programmatic media buying to Europe and Asia, Erich is a pioneer, a visionary and one of the hardest working people I know.”

Other important MediaMath milestones this year include the appointment of board member Michael Barrett, former global CRO of Yahoo!, AOL, and CEO of AdMeld and Google Director.

Commenting on Wasserman’s appointment, Barrett said, “Erich’s ability to demystify the complexity of MediaMath’s unique technology platform and articulate the benefits to global advertisers is one of the reasons why he was so successful building the EMEA/APAC practice. It is this, along with his determination, talent for growing and scaling high-performing teams, and his sincere character, that will make him such a successful global CRO.”

As MediaMath looks toward 2014, hiring and recruitment across all regions will remain aggressive in support of its continued year-over-year growth rate of nearly 125%.
