MediaMath acquires Spree7, a leading German programmatic advertising company

Spree7 acquisition opens new markets for MediaMath, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Berlin, Germany, 18 November 2015: MediaMath, creator of the TerminalOne Marketing Operating System® for digital marketers, today announced its acquisition of Spree7, a leading digital media consulting and programmatic implementation firm. The acquisition empowers MediaMath to drive programmatic media and data management solutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

MediaMath also announced the appointment of Spree7’s CEO, Viktor Zawadzki, as Regional Manager for DACH. Spree7’s office in Berlin will become the foundation for MediaMath’s DACH office.

Spree7 was founded in 2012 by PubliGroupe and MediaMath to address the growing demand for programmatic solutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2014 Swisscom acquired PubliGroupe in a public offer. Spree7’s marquee clients include Swisscom group companies and it serves as a white label programmatic trading desk for more than 50 independent media agencies in the region. Swisscom continues to use MediaMath’s digital advertising tech stack, utilising Spree7’s local market expertise.

The DACH region has enormous potential for digital advertising, with the German digital market in particular – already the second largest in Europe – expanding rapidly. The acquisition of Spree7 enables MediaMath to meet demand in this lucrative market and play a central role in driving its development.
