About the team:

The MediaMath User Experience team’s mission is to deliver meaningful, efficient, and domain-conscious product experiences through intuitive workflow and beautiful design. We are thought leaders for user experience and visual design across all the product business units, working closely with internal and external users, Product Management and Engineering to build useful, usable features and enhancements across our platform.

About the job:

As a User Experience (UX) Designer, you will think about the design of a product area end-to-end for a specific persona and their journey. Including thinking at the high-level as well as in the details: defining the interaction design, information architecture, content strategy, copywriting, and visual design details.

You will be working on high impact and value products that are critical to our success and growth. You will run your own research and team up with researchers using qualitative and quantitative research methods to test existing products to identify gaps and usability issues, to help the company better understand its users, and find new opportunities for growth.

This role involves working with product managers to create new and refine new and existing user experience for complex workflows, assist with user research, translate findings into forward looking product designs, produce sketches and prototypes, validate, and iterate designs to ensure designs meet user needs. You would be required to use pre-existing design patterns and assets for new features, while seizing opportunities to create new patterns and designs to establish new standards.

You have:

  • 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in UX, Interaction Design, or HCI
  • Degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or related major from an accredited University desirable
  • Portfolio with examples of design thinking and practical application of research techniques

You can:

  • Proactively ask questions when faced with project ambiguity or uncertainty of direction
  • Think critically about user tasks and needs before you start designing
  • Be capable of working on designs independently or collaborating
  • Prototype low or high-fidelity using pen, paper or Sketch and Figma
  • Confidently present your ideas to a small or large group and welcome feedback
  • Determine when it makes sense to apply user feedback to designs and when not to
  • Communicate your creative process clearly, in person, on paper or digitally over video
  • Evangelize design and the user’s perspective through-out the product development lifecycle
  • Evangelize, establish and reinforce consistent interaction design patterns

You are:

  • Curious about user problems and interested in solving them through design
  • Try to understand root causes of the problem before designing the solution
  • Ready to deepen your craft and talk about your work and take it to the next level
  • Able to be tactical and lead with a solution-minded mindset
  • Able to be strategic and plan for design long-term solutions for the whole ecosystem and not just the current feature
  • Able to spot usability problems before you even interact with a screen
  • Passionate about owning the end-to-end experience for a specific persona and their journey
