A digital marking firm has leased 106,000 square feet at World Trade Center 4, the building’s developer said today, making the firm the office tower’s first private-sector tenant.

The developer, Silverstein Properties, announced that MediaMath has signed a 15-year lease for the space on the 44th, 45th and 46th floors of the 72-story building. MediaMath will relocate 300 of its employees from three midtown Manhattan locations into WTC 4 in early 2015, Silverstein said.

MediaMath, a global technology company specializing in digital marketing, was founded in 2007. The firm joins New York City and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as tenants in the 977-foot-tall office tower.

“MediaMath joins a growing and diverse group of companies that have made long-term commitments to the new World Trade Center, and becomes the first global marketing technology company to commit to 4 WTC,” Silverstein said in an announcement. “As DoubleClick anchored Midtown South, as Google anchored the Meatpacking district, having an anchor technology leader provides a magnet for others. This comes on top of more than five million square feet of office space that has been leased at the WTC by such blue-chip tenants as Condé Nast, Moody’s, GroupM, BMI, Omnicom, WilmerHale, Fast Company and Inc. magazines.”

WTC 4 is one of three towers being developed at the trade center site by Silverstein, which had entered into a 99-year lease on the site a month before the terror attack of Sept. 11, 2001.

Silverstein said the MediaMath deal means that 70 percent of the 7.4 million square feet at trade center towers 1, 4 and 7 has now been leased.

WTC 4, which scrapes the sky at 977 feet tall, was designed by architect Fumihiko Maki to meet a LEED Gold standard of sustainability, Silverstein said. It is a shorter cousin to the 1,776-foot tall WTC 1, the nation’s tallest building and the centerpiece of the redeveloped trade center site.

The Port Authority, now headquartered on Park Avenue just above Union Square, will occupy 520,000 square feet of space at WTC 4, while the City of New York’s human resources offices will occupy another 600,000 square feet.
