Data-based digital marketing firm MediaMath is buying out partner firm Swisscom from their joint venture programmatic ad solutions company Spree7. The latter’s Berlin office will become MediaMath’s regional hub for DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), and CEO Viktor Zawadzki its Regional Manager.

Spree7 combines advisers and analysts with real-time ad technology, and was set up in 2012 by MediaMath and PubliGroupe – a company acquired by national telecoms provider Swisscom in 2014. Following the latest deal, Swisscom will continue to use MediaMath’s digital advertising tech stack, and Spree7’s local market expertise.

US-based MediaMath says it can now drive programmatic media and data management solutions in the DACH region, which has enormous potential for digital advertising. MD EMEA Dave Reed comments: ‘Increasingly, multinational brands demand their ad tech vendors and partners have parallel reach and scale. We have already worked extensively with Spree7 and we highly value their local market knowledge and programmatic expertise. We are also excited to build on our close partnership with Swisscom’. According to Zawadzki: ‘Marketers’ preference for transparency and control has led Spree7 to grow its self-service client model. We are thrilled to become part of the MediaMath family and look forward to accelerating the company’s growth across Europe by supporting new and existing clients with our local expertise’.
