MediaMath: The Future Is Bright

August 1, 2013 — by Joe Zawadzki

When I look around me today at the 399+ people who make up the MediaMath family, I am amazed at how far we have come since we opened our doors 5+ years ago.

So much has happened in such a short period of time, and it got me thinking that it’d be worth it to talk a bit about the MediaMath strategy in this fantastic new blog we’ve just launched.

MediaMath is a technology company.  We are focused on developing robust technology to help our clients and their clients communicate with their customers across the entire digital ecosystem.
We built MediaMath’s TerminalOne Marketing Operating System™ as an interoperable, flexible and global platform with the intention of helping myriad types of businesses, with diverse business models, effectively build their own marketing practice or power those of their clients.

The interoperability, and “openness” of our platform, has spawned many opportunities across the advertising technology industry for our partners – agencies large and small.  These include the creation of new business models; technology advancements built upon TerminalOne; the influx of more advertisers into the agency ecosystem who want to take advantage of what our technology provides but need strategic guidance; and investment in products that augment our core offering.

Our strategy to grow the adoption of our platform focuses on investment opportunities through our Ventures arm, but also, and more importantly, on developing robust training programs around our technology to help our users better understand how to leverage TerminalOne to meet their – and their clients’ – unique business challenges.

But our investment in this industry isn’t solely focused on our own technology or those who use it.  We are also focused on helping other technology companies build their business if it expands opportunity within the ecosystem for agencies and advertisers, alike.

And for our largest clients — global holding companies and brands who are well past any need for small amounts of start up capital — we instead provide engineering resources to help them integrate the rest of their chosen technologies, and in many cases even help them design and build their own applications on top of our stack. We work hard to provide -all- of our partners with the things they need to be successful.

As we continue to grow our business, we will focus on building fantastic technology, teaching others how to use it to be successful in their own business, and investing in new technologies that bring opportunity to our clients.

And the more we do in this regard, the bigger the opportunity is for the entire ecosystem from big agencies to smaller ones; from large enterprises to small and mid-sized businesses.
