Elise oversees internal and external training initiatives, certification, enterprise education and global program development at MediaMath through the New Marketing Institute (NMI) where she leads a global team of 29, touching 16 different countries. She joined MediaMath in January of 2012, bringing with her 15 years of experience managing, facilitating and building targeted training programs from the ground up. She launched NMI shortly thereafter – in Q2 of 2012. In the 4 years since launch, she’s led the charge in building a team of training professionals who share in her passion for educating and empowering the new generation of marketing professionals.
Elise maintains a strong presence on the board of prominent industry and L&D organizations such as the IAB and ATD. She holds a seat on the IAB Board and is also part of the IAB Digital Leadership Program, which helps foster growth for the next generation of digital marketing and advertising executives. She has also joined the Association for Talent Development (ATD) as a member of the ATD Forum Advisory Group, helping to shape forum activities through thought leadership and collaboration.
Elise holds a B.A., in Communications, PR & Advertising along with a M.S., in Instructional Leadership and Business Communications from Robert Morris University. Elise resides in Bergen County New Jersey with her husband and two children. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, playing basketball, watching sports, mentoring and providing career development coaching to former and current student-athletes who are making a transition into the corporate world.
Michelle is the Senior Manager of Programmatic Education with the New Marketing Institute. In addition to overseeing and editing documentation to support training, she uses her 10 years of experience in the online space to educate others in NMI’s industry-leading Introduction to Digital Marketing and Omnichannel certification courses. Prior to joining NMI/MediaMath, she worked in all sides of the industry, first in establishing the certification process at EyeWonder and helping to lead the company’s office in Dublin, Ireland, before trying her hand in the programmatic ad space in account management and yield delivery positions. Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and English from the University of Southern California and lives in Brooklyn.
Cindy Lamar is a Manager of Program Development at the New Marketing Institute. She uses her more than 16 years’ experience in education to create and develop educational programs that challenge people to rise above the discomfort of learning something new and engage with learning as a part of life. Her programs largely focus on holistically developing the professional (as opposed to her previous focus on technical training) and target audiences at all levels: from the recent graduate entering the programmatic field to the seasoned executive seeking to gain knowledge and adopt programmatic best practices. Prior to joining NMI/MediaMath, she was a rollout trainer for proprietary and industry-standard software in industries as varied as real estate, pharmaceutical sales and legal. Before joining the corporate arena, she spent more than five years teaching English as a Second Language, during which she learned to effectively communicate cross-culturally. Cindy earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Lehman College, and a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development.
As Manager, Training and Instructional Design, Sean is responsible for designing and implementing meaningful learning experiences for learners with a diverse range of backgrounds. Using evidence-based instructional theories and design principles, Sean leads trainings, develops curriculum, and contributes to NMI Certification on topics related to programmatic technology. Sean has a M.A. in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University with a focus in Universal Design for Learning and was a secondary school teacher prior to joining NMI. Based in Chicago, Sean manages NMI’s product training for the North America region.
Diana is the Training & Certification Program Manager with the New Marketing Institute. She currently brings together Professional Development Training for MediaMath which includes leadership/manager programs and supports technical training for MediaMath’s Tech Org. Diana historically has a deep background in company-wide Onboarding, and Tech Training. she truly thrives off the ability to meet the learner where they are and having her job accelerate others. Prior to joining NMI/MediaMath, Diana exhibited her entrepreneurial spirit by dabbling in fashion before converting to the tech space with AOL as an onboarding specialist, then a FoodTech startup leading operations, and finally landing at MediaMath melding her past experiences and building them out here.
Adam is passionate about helping people develop their careers. He started his career in higher education, working within academic and student affairs. Upon moving to NYC in 2012, he transitioned out of higher education and into learning & development. Now, instead of teaching students, he spends his time training working professionals. Adam has a B.A. in Psychology & Social Behavior from UC Irvine and a M.S. in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. He is currently the Director of Program Development with the New Marketing Institute where he oversees the Marketing Engineer Program – a career accelerator in digital marketing.
Leveraging her background in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Jamie loves to help individuals realize their potential. Prior to joining MediaMath, she worked at a young start-up in the solar energy space and was at the forefront of the development of the company’s recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, and human resources functions. As part of the NMI team, she oversees the NYC Marketing Engineer Program, an immersive career accelerator designed to develop future leaders in digital marketing. Jamie has a Master’s Degree in I/O Psychology from NYU and is always eager to learn, travel, and try new things.
Amyris Fernandez, Ph.D., is the eLearning Curriculum Development lead with the New Marketing Institute. In addition, she oversees the NMI LATAM, and uses her 35 years of marketing and advertising experience to educate others about Programmatic. Prior to joining NMI/Mediamath she I’ve helped big and small companies to solve some thorny business challenges by designing innovative business models, eco-systems, and related product concepts. Having lived in the US and Europe previously, she has experience in working with cross-cultural teams and business insights. She is now based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Debbie is Director of Training and Client Enablement with the New Marketing Institute. She studied at the Irish Management Institute and spent a large chunk of her early career at Dell Computers in Dublin, Ireland. Debbie brings to the team over 15 years of sales and learning and development experience. In her role she works with the wider internal team training a breadth of subjects in professional development and is a qualified practitioner in Myers Briggs. She also works with clients to ensure seamless on boarding. Her specialist subject and some might say, passion, is sales and she is the Global Lead for the Sales Training at MediaMath. She holds professional qualifications in Miller Heiman Strategic Selling, SPIN Selling and various other sales methodologies.
As Manager, Training & Certification – EMEA, Trevor specializes in training clients on TerminalOne and other NMI certification courses. Trevor also focuses on creating eLearning content and is passionate about making system training the best that it can be. Trevor has over 5 years’ experience in advertising technology. Prior to MediaMath, Trevor led the UK training team at Mediaocean and has experience working with holding companies and independent agencies across all media types. In his time in the industry, Trevor has witnessed first-hand the way digital media has evolved and how integral programmatic has been to this change. Trevor studied Information Technology at Goldsmith’s University in London. In his spare time, Trevor enjoys eating delicious things and can be found at various burger joints around London.
Maria is the Program Development Manager with the New Marketing Institute, based in London, UK. She oversees Marketing Engineer Program in the EMEA region, and has so far successfully run several MEP cohorts in London and launched the inaugural cohort in Berlin. In addition to managing the program, Maria utilizes her 6 years of learning & development experience to lead curriculum design and facilitate professional development training amongst other projects. Prior to joining New Marketing Institute, Maria worked in L&D and client servicing roles across consumer goods, tourism and hospitality industries. She earned 1st class Bachelors degree in International Travel and Tourism Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, and holds a professional qualification in Learning & Development from CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
Lauren is Specialist, Client Enablement and Certification for NMI in EMEA. She has her M.A. in Higher Education and two years’ experience teaching in FE colleges and galleries. She has worked at MediaMath for more than three years, first as an executive assistant to the Managing Director before joining NMI in February 2016. Outside of work, Lauren is a practicing artist and a mum to two boys, Frank and Rufus.
Marrah Africa is a passionate ad tech evangelist. She believes that to be a successful marketer today, one must be both an artist and a scientist. She aims to help marketers navigate the ever-evolving digital industry through education empowering them to lead better engagement and practice. Most of her working experience was working for a media agency. In the Philippines, she pioneered an award winning digital team after which moving into a regional role based in Singapore to lead programmatic adoption across SEA. She has since then joined MediaMath to lead its educational arm, New Marketing Institute, for APAC. She aims to grow the programmatic expertise in the region as has lead programs such as Practical Programmatic Academy for Brands, Media Planners and Creatives launched in Spikes Asia 2016.
