US-based digital marketing specialist MediaMath has opened an office in Madrid, where it has appointed Gonzalo García as Country Manager.

The firm’s flagship TerminalOne product brings together digital media and data to simplify the planning, execution and analysis of both direct response and branding campaigns. Last year, MediaMath acquired ad targeting specialist Tactads and audience targeting tech company Rare Crowds, and in 2013 it bought the Advertising Decision Solutions (ADS) business of online management and measurement firm Akamai.

The new office is said to be a result of the region’s growing demand for programmatic technology, as well as requests from global and domestic clients for on-the-ground expertise in Spain. García (pictured) joins with more than fifteen years’ digital experience. Most recently, he served as MD of programmatic trading company Targetopia, prior to which he led global trading desk Affiperf as Chief Operations Officer, Spain. In his new role, García will be responsible for driving the company’s presence across the region, and developing deeper relationships with current and prospective clients.

Dave Reed, MD EMEA, comments:’Spain is a significant focus for MediaMath and the opening of a new office in Madrid demonstrates our deep commitment to the market. With programmatic investment in Spain poised for significant growth, Gonzalo’s insight and experience of the ad industry and agency trading desks in particular will be invaluable to our clients.’
