User Experience (UX) Designer

The ideal candidate is fluent in current UX best practices, but knows when to go in a new direction. You’re flexible, and as confident as you are skeptical. You know how to look at a big honking problem and break it down into manageable parts. You're someone who always notices the tiny details, and thoughtless interaction design drives you nuts. 

Our work involves working with several teams across the org, so you to need feel just as comfortable working closely with Engineering and Marketing as you are with your fellow Product team members.    

Responsibilities:

  • Create the right documentation for the task at hand, ranging from a sketch on a piece of paper or a whiteboard to an annotated wireframe that a developer can trust and work with
  • Be able to easily pivot between high level product discussions and the low level implications
  • Help establish and reinforce consistent interaction design patterns Work closely with our product managers and engineers to define the best way to approach a problem
  • Know how to ask the right questions
  • Present ideas to small & large groups, and be able to coolly handle feedback, good and bad

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years designing elegant cross-platform experiences 
  • Online portfolio that includes projects in which you had total creative control, and those in which you worked on/with multiple teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile Development and Scrum a plus
  • A good understanding of the online media and advertising industry
  • Functional understanding of the technology that makes what we do possible 
  • Ability to empathize with newbie and expert users
  • Passion and ideas about where MediaMath products can go
