Finance and Accounting Intern

MediaMath is seeking a dynamic and motivated Finance & Accounting Intern to manage various financial duties.  The ideal candidate is a recent graduate of a top tier university who has a degree in accounting or finance, demonstrated success with quantitative analysis and an interest in gaining an expert knowledge of the online advertising industry. As part of the Finance Team, you will help in maintaining the company’s general ledger, billing, receivables & payables, expense reimbursements, payroll, commission & contract tracking but will also work across all departments to refine key performance indicators, develop & track budgets and automate financial processes.

MediaMath is a fast-paced environment and is seeking someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment with little guidance. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual looking to learn online advertising and the financial needs of a quickly growing industry-leader.  The ideal candidate will juggle multiple projects simultaneously and will not be afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to tackle projects both big and small.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in data entry related to: vendor invoices, billing, accruals, journal entries, revenue tracking 
  • Track and improve metrics which measure company and department performance
  • Maintain Contracts, NDA’s , Documentation & Support for audits and reviews as necessary
  • Manage petty cash account and corporate order process when needed
  • Conduct benchmarking studies, quantitative analysis and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Daily reconciliations of cash position, accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Help pay all vendor bills and efficiently manage collections to maintain cash balance 
  • Act as liaison to outside firms to assist in year-end audit and tax preparations. Provide documentation and support for audits and reviews as necessary,
  • Support CFO and controller  in other areas of corporate accounting and special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from top tier university with 0-3 years full-time work experience 
  • Highly proficient with Excel 
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite or other accounting software system is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across all departments
  • Demonstrated interest in Technology, Internet and/or Media/Advertising is a plus
