Data Analyst

MediaMath is currently seeking a Data Analyst with the knowledge, passion and capability to mine complex datasets and discover insights that drive value for our clients.  At MediaMath, data, optimization and insights are at the center of the value proposition we bring to clients.  This role will extend that value proposition to more custom, client-specific initiatives based on direction from our Account Directors, stated client objectives and internal hypothesis.

The ideal candidate has the appropriate blend of technical capabilities, business acumen and analytical chops to focus on the challenges of our biggest clients.  They will support our account management team and work directly with clients to gain insights into their broader business objectives.  Finally, the Data Analyst will use creativity, insight, and relentless commitment to problem solving to create valuable insights and delight our clients.  Performance metrics in this position are tied directly to value provided to the client and subsequent revenue impacts.  

Responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in the design and execution of data driven insights for select clients
  • Proactively identify opportunities, form hypothesis and synthesize conclusions into recommendations
  • Clearly communicate results and methods to Account Management staff and their clients
  • Work with large, complex datasets to solve difficult, non-routine problems
  • Work closely with Data Management team to streamline custom analytics functions
  • Help communicate the vision to partners, and secure enthusiastic cooperation


Requirements:

  • BA/BS preferred with strong academic record
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Expert knowledge SQL, Excel, R or other data manipulation tools.
  • Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends.
  • Extensive experience working with large, complex data sets, manipulations, analysis and reporting
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and superior analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and presenting data analysis
  • Experience with demographic, census, clustering schemes a plus
  • Strong understanding of statistics and working knowledge of predictive modeling and profiling techniques
  • Ability to create graphical representations of data present data using PowerPoint or equivalent.
  • Specialization in online marketing campaigns (i.e., segmentation, predictive response models) and experience in Interactive and Database Marketing field, helpful but not required
  • Experience with Omniture, Webtrends, Coremetrics, or other marketing and web analytics tools a plus
