Account Manager

MediaMath is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Account Manager with exceptional communication and analytical skills to handle MediaMath’s advertising accounts. In this critical role, the Account Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the client business relationship with MediaMath. This will consist mainly of client-facing information discovery, proposal development, translation of learnings to strategic and tactical recommendations, contract ratification and execution, and client reporting and up-sell. 

 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and expand agency partnerships with rigorous and detailed attention to accounts, development of case studies for purpose of heralding agency-client wins and for up-selling within agency 
  • Develop and maintain strong active relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels 
  • Own client relationship and incremental revenue, including getting incremental budget, resigning and up-selling clients on a regular basis 
  • Manage expectations for client campaign implementation and performance both internally and externally 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, escalate, track and solve client issues 
  • Understand and effectively communicate MediaMath’s value proposition, technology, processes, partnerships as relate to growth of current and prospective client accounts 
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the industry and client business needs 
  • Lead on-site and remote client proposal and status meetings 
  • Exchange marketplace understanding and evangelism 
  • Internal reporting to team of marketplace learnings and client requests 
  • Understanding the online media marketplace: who is our competition: what is their approach and value proposition? Who are our allies and how can we expand MM’s macro influence 
  • Understanding the agency landscape: who are the major players, how do they buy, from whom, what are the macro and micro forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction? 
  • Other responsibilities, as may be required, such as: conference attendance, industry event attendance, and other substantive activities as we may decide.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3-5 years of experience in online advertising either in account management or sales. 
  • Knowledge of the online media business and underlying technology and research. Experience with advertising agencies a plus. 
  • Excellent sales skills including the ability to create and build relationships. Demonstrated track record of success and established relationships. 
  • Strong analytical skills. Must be comfortable with MS Excel and data analysis. 
  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
  • Diligent work ethic. Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done. 
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong consultative sales skills, personable, charismatic. 
  • Thorough understanding of MS Office and familiarity with internet technologies. 
  • Must be able to travel 10 - 20% of the time (frequent day trips, semi-regular overnights might be required).
